Global recording artist and philanthropist Taylor Swift, 35, has made a $100,000 charitable contribution to assist a two-year-old girl named Lilah, who is currently undergoing treatment for a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.
According to information published on a verified GoFundMe page established by the child’s aunt, Lilah’s diagnosis followed a seizure incident at home in February, which led to the discovery of a stage 4 brain tumor. The tumor was subsequently removed through surgery, but further medical evaluation revealed the presence of an exceptionally rare and aggressive cancer, requiring multiple rounds of chemotherapy and stem cell treatments.
Due to the extended treatment plan, the family has incurred significant medical and living expenses associated with long-term hospital stays. Swift’s donation on Friday fulfilled the campaign’s initial fundraising target of $100,000, which has since been exceeded, reaching approximately $178,000 as of Friday evening.
In addition to the donation, Swift left a personal note on the campaign page under the “Words of Support” section, stating:
“Sending the biggest hug to my friend, Lilah! Love, Taylor.”
The contribution follows an Instagram post from an awareness account for pediatric cancer patients, which featured friendship bracelets inspired by Lilah’s admiration for Swift. The post mentioned that Lilah’s initials—“LS”—were incorporated into the design as both “Lilah Strong” and a symbolic connection to her favorite artist.
Swift’s act of generosity aligns with her well-documented history of direct charitable giving. The artist has frequently made private donations to individuals and families facing hardship, often through verified online campaigns.
The donation also drew attention from fans, many of whom contributed to the campaign in $13 increments—a reference to Swift’s longtime association with the number as her personal symbol of good fortune.
This gesture comes shortly after actress Ruby Rose publicly praised Swift’s ongoing philanthropy, noting that the singer has previously spent time identifying GoFundMe campaigns in need of support and personally contributing to their completion.
Representatives for Swift have not issued a formal comment regarding this latest donation.#newsafro_
