Chrissy Teigen, aged thirty-nine (39), has provided clarification regarding her decision to disclose her use of a weight loss medication following her miscarriage.

The model and television personality stated that her admission to using Ozempic was motivated by a desire to maintain transparency with her supporters, particularly during what she described as a challenging period in her personal life.

Ms. Teigen further explained that her openness was intended to encourage others toward greater self-acceptance, expressing the hope that her candor would help individuals “feel a lot better about themselves.”

Chrissy Teigen, aged thirty-nine (39), has elaborated on her decision to publicly acknowledge her use of the GLP-1 medication Ozempic, stating in an interview published by People on Wednesday that she “knew it would resonate” with others.

Mrs. Teigen, who is married to musician John Legend, explained that since the advent of social media, she has sought to present an authentic portrayal of her life, emphasizing that “things weren’t as fluffy and beautiful as they may seem.”

Her disclosure follows her admission that she began using the medication after experiencing difficulty losing weight following a miscarriage five years ago. Appearing on the Self-Conscious podcast on September 18, she recounted that she had endured “a deep depression of seeing this pregnant belly with no baby in it,” describing her body as “completely stuck.”

She explained that during her pregnancy, she had allowed herself to “indulge,” and after losing the baby at twenty (20) weeks, she had gained approximately forty (40) pounds, which she found uncomfortable.

Mrs. Teigen also emphasized the importance of honesty and self-acceptance, particularly for her children. She expressed that she wants her daughter and sons to feel empowered to acknowledge their insecurities, stating that “it’s not about pretending to be perfect,” but about being “open and honest about what it feels to make you feel better.”

She further remarked that perfection is not emotionally fulfilling, adding, “It’ll never truly fulfill you. But people are going to make their own decisions about their bodies and what will make them feel healthy and safe and proud of themselves, and everybody has a right to do those things.”

In the same context, Mrs. Teigen reflected on her self-imposed commitment to remain “completely transparent,” particularly in an era when many online portrayals reflect only idealized highlights. She acknowledged that it can be “frustrating” when others choose not to share the less glamorous aspects of their lives.

Mrs. Teigen, who shares four children with her husband of twelve (12) years — Luna (9), Miles (7), Esti, and Wren — also experienced a pregnancy loss in 2020, after which the couple named their late son Jack.

She added that her motivation for candor stems from a belief that openness can “make a lot of people feel a lot better about their families, themselves, their own bodies,” underscoring her long-standing advocacy for transparency and authenticity in public discourse.#newsafro_
