Jennifer Lopez was confronted directly on Wednesday regarding long-circulating rumors that her former fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, had engaged in inappropriate communication with Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy — allegations that many speculated contributed to the dissolution of their 2021 engagement.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen cautiously broached the topic, asking the 56-year-old entertainer whether “A-Rod was DMing one of the cast members,” referencing the claims that surfaced in early 2021.
Lopez, appearing momentarily taken aback, responded with visible restraint, rubbing her hands together before saying, “Okay.” When pressed further about whether the speculation played a role in their breakup, the singer and actress firmly stated, “You know, I really have nothing to say about my personal life anymore. I feel like it’s… I’m done with that.” Her response drew applause from the audience, to which she responded lightheartedly, “Yes! Support! Support!”
Lopez and Rodriguez — who co-owned the Minnesota Timberwolves during their relationship — ended their four-year engagement in April 2021, shortly after sharing their final joint photo on social media. Reports later emerged that Lopez had rekindled communication with actor Ben Affleck as early as February 2021; the two later married in 2022 before finalizing their divorce in February 2025.
LeCroy, for her part, first hinted at private exchanges with an “ex-MLB player” during the Southern Charm reunion special aired in January 2021, though she maintained that the interaction never became physical. In a later interview, she alleged that Rodriguez had frequently FaceTimed her and invited her to Miami, a claim his representatives categorically denied as “false narratives.”
Elsewhere during the interview, Lopez named Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein as her favorite on-screen kisser, with whom she co-stars in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Office Romance. The actress is currently promoting her film Kiss of the Spider Woman, which, despite positive reviews, has seen underwhelming box office returns.
