Nigeria’s leading sports betting brand, betPawa, is set to uncover the country’s most skilled one-on-one footballer through a new nationwide challenge tagged 1v1 Africa.

The initiative shifts focus from traditional team tournaments to pure individual brilliance. Built around intense 1v1 matchups, the competition is designed to spotlight raw talent, pace, control, flair, confidence, the kind often seen on the streets long before it reaches professional stadiums.

The Challenge has drawn attention in part due to its association with Afrobeats stars Mr Eazi and Tekno. Mr Eazi has previously championed the 1v1 Africa concept as a youth-driven sports movement, using digital platforms to amplify grassroots football culture. Tekno’s involvement further bridges music and street football energy, reinforcing the competition’s appeal among Nigeria’s youth demographic.

With cash prizes and national visibility on offer, the challenge is expected to attract skilled players from across the country, turning everyday football battles into a structured platform for recognition.

More than a competition, 1v1 Africa signals a blend of sport, culture, and entertainment, positioning football not just as a game, but as performance, identity, and opportunity.
