In a major political development, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Governor Fintiri, who registered with the APC broom in Madagali Local Government Area, described his decision as a strategic step to align the state with the ruling party at the federal level. The defection includes several members of his cabinet and at least 15 lawmakers from the Adamawa State House of Assembly, all of whom have resigned from the PDP and are expected to join the APC.
