It was a dazzling evening of culture, color, and creativity as the E1 Championship Fashion Show illuminated the EbonyLife Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, bringing together some of Africa’s most dynamic fashion talents under one international spotlight.
Themed “Africa Takes the Global Runway,” the event was a stunning celebration of African craftsmanship and design innovation, reaffirming the continent’s growing influence in the global fashion landscape.
The runway featured breathtaking collections from acclaimed designers across Africa and the diaspora, including Tannymash (Zimbabwe), Afrikayla, Keannie Fashion Empire, What 2 Wear, Anjoreen Couture, Prince Glam Style (Nigeria), SGTC Clothing (Ghana), Dashikipride African Designers in the Diaspora (New York City), and Rikaotobyme, who also served as the show’s creative director.
From bold reinterpretations of traditional African textiles to avant-garde haute couture, each collection told a vivid story of a continent in motion — confident, expressive, and poised to lead on the world stage.
Beyond its glamour, the show championed a powerful message of purpose and progress. In partnership with the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) initiative of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA), the event spotlighted fashion as a cornerstone of Africa’s creative economy.
The initiative seeks to empower designers, artists, and cultural entrepreneurs through targeted funding, trade access, and industrial growth — aligning seamlessly with the show’s mission to elevate African creativity to a global platform.
Supported by the Lagos State Government, Aurora International Foundation, Afreximbank, CANEX, FEDA, and stakeholders across Nigeria’s creative, tourism, and business sectors, the showcase highlighted the immense economic potential of Africa’s creative industries in driving youth empowerment, export diversification, and cross-border trade.
The E1 Championship Fashion Show ultimately stood as a bold statement of Africa’s creative resurgence — a vivid reminder that the continent’s style, vision, and innovation continue to captivate audiences worldwide.#newsafro_
