BBNaija’s Faith Partners with NGO to Support Vulnerable Families Through Food Outreach Initiative

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Faith Adewale, has continued his commitment to social impact by collaborating with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) for an outreach program designed to assist vulnerable families in Lagos State.

The exercise, scheduled to take place on Wednesday at the LFBI Warehouse, forms part of the organization’s Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) — an intervention aimed at mitigating the impact of food insecurity and the prevailing cost-of-living crisis.

This latest engagement marks Faith’s return to the humanitarian space, following his previous volunteer work under LFBI’s #NUMEPlan, a program focused on the nutritional treatment and feeding of malnourished children.

In an official statement released via its verified X (formerly Twitter) account, the Lagos Food Bank commended Faith’s renewed involvement, stating:

“Big Brother changed his life; now he’s choosing to change the world. Faith Adewale is not just using his voice; he’s using his platform to give back. After volunteering under the #NUMEPlan program, where malnourished children are treated and fed, he made a promise to return and do more. On Wednesday, 15th October, he’s keeping that promise by joining us for an impactful TEFAP Program to serve vulnerable families. This isn’t just an outreach — it’s a movement of love, hope, and action.”

Faith, who gained public attention during Season 10 of Big Brother Naija, has previously spoken about his post-show experiences, revealing that he obtained a ₦5 million loan to fund his participation — a venture he described as “transformational.” Despite his disqualification, he expressed appreciation to his supporters, known as “the Faithfuls,” and reiterated his focus on purpose-driven and socially responsible initiatives.

In a related development, LFBI announced a collaborative effort with five partner NGOs under its Food Bank Network Nigeria Initiative — namely, JKO Heart Foundation, McDera Food Bank, The Glow Foundation, Faith Moves Foundation, and I Care For All Foundation. The organization stated that the partnership aims to strengthen community resilience and reduce food insecurity across Nigeria.

According to LFBI, the outreach also falls under its #AgricoveryProgram, a food salvage and redistribution initiative that recovers surplus farm produce and delivers it to vulnerable groups such as the aged, disabled, and low-income households.

In its statement, the organization noted:

“Nigeria faces a paradox of food surplus and widespread hunger. Our mission is to bridge that gap — to ensure that no one goes hungry while food goes to waste. Despite being a major agricultural producer, the nation experiences significant food loss and waste, resulting in economic, social, and environmental challenges. Through our agricovery and food assistance program, we continue to work toward a hunger-free Nigeria.”#newsafro_
