Nollywood actor and filmmaker Tobi Makinde has announced his engagement, delighting fans with the news in a heartfelt post shared on social media.
Makinde, widely recognized for his role as Timini in the hit television series Jenifa’s Diary and as co-director of the box office success Battle on Buka Street, expressed his gratitude and excitement about taking a significant new step in his personal life.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the actor wrote:
“Some months ago, the love of my life said YES to me, and I was most delighted. I’m excited for this new journey that I’m about to embark on. Truthfully, it has always seemed very far-fetched, but just like every other BIG step I have taken in life, I sought God’s face, and trust me, He has always led me aright.”
Makinde also shared a humorous detail about the proposal, admitting that the engagement ring did not fit as intended.
“I had only one job, which was to get a ring to fit perfectly, but I blew it and got a bigger size. Anyways, that has been sorted now. Na intention matter pass,” he joked.
He concluded the post on a jubilant note, adding:
“I love you, my darling!! PS — I don finally commot for the ‘let the singles breathe group.’ Somebody shout hallelujah.”
The filmmaker, who also earned critical praise for his role as Shina Judah in the 2024 blockbuster A Tribe Called Judah, has since received an overwhelming outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans, friends, and colleagues across the Nollywood industry.#newsafro_
