Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former protégé, Aubrey O’Day, has issued a chilling public warning in the aftermath of the disgraced rapper’s sentencing.

One day after Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison and fined $50,000 following his conviction, O’Day, 41, took to social media to share a strongly worded statement urging young artists to protect themselves from exploitation in the entertainment industry.

Combs was convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, though he was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking. Following the conclusion of his seven-week federal trial, O’Day, who rose to fame as part of the girl group Danity Kane under Diddy’s mentorship, used her platform on X (formerly Twitter) to address the broader dangers of power abuse.

“Those who misuse their power often face far fewer consequences than the harm inflicted upon their victims,” she wrote, cautioning aspiring artists to remain vigilant when pursuing their dreams.

    She continued:

“The true warning is not that a jury may doubt your testimony, nor that a court’s sentencing guidelines may fail to reflect the years of suffering you endured. The real warning is this — the moment someone in a position of power oversteps your boundaries or demands more than is legitimately required of you, walk away and do not look back. No dream, however bright, can outweigh the pain and exploitation that may follow if you remain.”

O’Day emphasized the importance of self-preservation, adding:

“Protect yourself at the first sign of coercion or impropriety. If something feels wrong, trust that instinct and remove yourself from the situation. Your well-being is worth more than any opportunity.”

The singer, who gained fame on Diddy’s early 2000s MTV reality show Making the Band, has previously accused the music mogul of grooming and sexually harassing her during her time under his mentorship.#newsafro_
